- Linda Manz was born on 20 August 1961 in New York City, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for Days of Heaven (1978), The Wanderers (1979) and The Game (1997). She was married to Robert L. Guthrie. She died on 14 August 2020 in Palmdale, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
- Lovely, radiant, enticing, and charismatic blonde Candice Rialson was perhaps the most dynamic and personable actress to appear in enjoyably trashy drive-in pictures throughout the 1970's. Rialson was born on December 18, 1951 in Santa Monica, California and grew up in Orange County, California. She was crowned Miss Hermosa Beach at age 18. After making her film debut in an uncredited bit as a bikini-clad beauty on the beach in The Gay Deceivers (1969), the pert 'n' perky Candice enlivened a bunch of choice down 'n' dirty exploitation features: She was a naive, innocent hitchhiker who runs afoul of kinky perverts in the bizarre Pets (1973), one of Gloria Grahame's slutty daughters in the sleazy Mama's Dirty Girls (1974), a hapless lass with a talking and singing vagina (!) in the outrageously bawdy Chatterbox! (1977), a small-town tramp in the immensely entertaining Moonshine County Express (1977), and a stuck-up starlet in the nifty Stunts (1977). Following her winningly easy 'n' breezy turns in the amiably silly soft-core comedies Candy Stripe Nurses (1974) and Summer School Teachers (1975) for legendary B-movie filmmaker Roger Corman, Candice expertly essayed her best, most substantial, and appealing role as "Candy Wednesday", a bubbly aspiring actress who winds up working for the chintzy schlock movie studio "Miracle Pictures" ("If it's a good film, then it's a Miracle") in the very clever and hilarious junk film parody Hollywood Boulevard (1976). Moreover, Rialson also had bit parts in the mainstream features The Eiger Sanction (1975), Logan's Run (1976) and Silent Movie (1976) and made guest appearances on the TV shows Maude (1972), Shaft (1973), Switch (1975), Adam's Rib (1973), and Fantasy Island (1977).
After doing yet another minor part as a nurse playing with a rake in Winter Kills (1979), Candice Rialson voluntarily quit acting at the end of the 1970's, got married, settled down in Studio City, California, and had one child. However, she remained a cult favorite of 1970's exploitation film fans. Quentin Tarantino, in particular, was such a strong admirer of Rialson's work that he reportedly patterned the Bridget Fonda character in Jackie Brown (1997) after her. Candice Rialson passed away at age 54 from liver disease on March 31, 2006. She is much loved and missed by her many fans the world over. - Actor

Patrick M. Wright was a gruff, burly and intimidating constant presence in an alarmingly large volume of delightfully down'n'dirty drive-in exploitation pictures made in the 70s. Patrick was born on November 28, 1939 in San Francisco, California. Stocky and strong-looking, with a thick mustache, a mass of curly brown hair, a husky, muscular, powerful frame, and a blunt, scruffy, rough-around-the-edges demeanor, Wright was frequently cast as stolid jerk cops, ramrod military men, prison guards, assorted vicious villains, and various boorish blue collar working class types. The brother of actress Mary Catherine Wright and husband of 70s B-movie actress Talie Cochrane (they often acted together in a sizable number of films), Wright first began acting in the late 60s. He appeared in three films for director Russ Meyer: "Good Morning ... and Goodbye!," "The Seven Minutes," and "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens." Wright's most memorable parts include the ineffectual Sheriff Mack in the laughably lousy creature feature hoot "Track of the Moonbeast," a lecherous high school football coach in the hilariously bawdy "The Cheerleaders," the nasty leader of a white slavery ring in the splendidly sleazy "The Abductors," a sadistic goon in Matt Cimber's enjoyably trashy "The Candy Tangerine Man," a hostile gay biker in "Bare Knuckles," the lord of the jungle in the amusingly inane "Tarz and Jane and Boy and Cheetah," the crude patriarch of a hillbilly family in "Sassy Sue," a friendly police sergeant in "Roller Boogie," and the rich sponsor of an illegal cross country road race in Paul Bartel's gloriously outrageous "Cannonball." Wright did guest spots on the TV shows "Wizards and Warriors," "Dynasty," "The Dukes of Hazzard," and "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams." Moreover, Wright directed the entertainingly lowbrow teen sex comedy "Hollywood High," produced the failed horror spoof "Frightmare," and worked on several movies and TV shows in minor behind-the-scenes production capacities. He also acted under the pseudonyms Silver Foxx, Bal Johnson and Michael Wright. Patrick ended his lengthy and extensive film career with a few small parts in a handful of straight-to-video items. Wright died at age 65 on December 9, 2004 in Palmdale, California.- Dick Rich was born on 27 February 1909 in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. He was an actor, known for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), Dressed to Kill (1941) and Perry Mason (1957). He died on 29 March 1967 in Palmdale, California, USA.

Eccentric, big-nosed, lugubrious-faced purveyor of silent screen slapstick, at one time billed as 'the elongated comedienne'. She was even suggested to have served as the model for 'Olive Oyl' of Popeye comic strip fame. An actual cartoon version of her was in fact featured in the British publication Film Fun. Gale started as a singer for the Temple Opera Company at the Century Theatre in Los Angeles. On screen from 1915, she first starred in a series of short comedies for independent producer Pat Powers, followed by the 'Joker' series at Universal opposite Augustus Carney and Billy Franey. From 1918, she fronted her own production unit, turning out 'Model' comedies, directed by her then-husband, Bruno C. Becker. These were made at facilities located at Santa Monica Boulevard and subsequently distributed by Reelcraft. By the mid-1920's, Gale had eased into supporting roles, playing old maids, harpies and hen-pecking wives in two-reelers for Joe Rock and Al Christie. She made a successful comeback at the end of the decade, co-starring in Charley Chase vehicles for Hal Roach, among which the most memorable entries were His Wooden Wedding (1925) and Mighty Like a Moose (1926). She also had a notable supporting role in Merton of the Movies (1924).
Personal details of her life are sketchy, but, by the time Becker died in 1926, Gale had married the animal trainer Henry East, a former MGM prop man. Thus, she embarked on a secondary career as co-owner of East Kennels. Their most famous charge was Skippy, a wire-haired terrier born in 1931, who rose to celluloid fame as the lovable Asta of The Thin Man (1934), and its sequels.- Actor

Ernie Rosecrans (Ernest, Eugene Rosecrans, 1919-2000) was one of the old guard, music copyists in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area for some fifty years. A music copyist trade is working with composers, editing, transposing and rewriting the composer's work by hand for each part in the orchestra so it can be performed. Every major motion picture studio had a group of copyists on call to work with the film composers to hand-copy and prepare the compositions for recording. He worked at all of the studios around Los Angeles but his main position was as lead copyist at 20th Century Fox for over 20 years. He worked on the orchestra scores for hundreds of films from the 1944-1985. Music copyist weren't receiving on-screen credits until the mid 1990's so his work and that of all his colleagues went uncredited.
At 20th Century Fox where he was first call copyist, he worked with the giants of the motion picture composition. John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith in particular were two composers that he worked closely with.
Ernie started out studying violin as a child. His father had hopes he would be a Hollywood orchestra, recording musician. He never lived up to his fathers expectations and dreams and instead started playing in small Mexican combos around the Los Angeles area. The Rosecrans' native language was Mexican, Spanish due to them living in Silver City New Mexico for many years. When they moved to Los Angeles in the late 1920's. Ernie started out in the art of music copying during the depression as the result of one of his music professors at Los Angeles City College obtaining a grant from the Roosevelt Public Works Program (WPA) to hire music copyist for his original orchestra compositions. He liked the work and decided to pursue it further after the WPA grants ran out. He wanted more assured work than he was making playing violin and he found an opening at Republic Studios in Hollywood.
Copying can be done in many styles. Some of neat and some written hurriedly and sloppy. Ernie was well respected and known as one of the artists in the craft. The composers and recording musicians were always happy to read his work. He could write with great speed when necessary because of recording deadlines but he was always known to be precise and artistic at the same time.
His son, Glen Rosecrans (aka Glen Rose) apprenticed and joined him and joined at 20th Century Fox for many years. Glen wrote a college text on music copying and dedicated it to his father. "A Music Notation Primer", was endorsed by John Williams and Sammy Nestico and was widely used in university music departments until computer software replaced the hand-drawn craft of copying.- Animation Department
